Chat commands

Chat commands: how to create a custom command

Create commands with variables, aliases, cooldowns and permissions, and use dozens of built-in ones.

A command system that grows with your channel

Commands are the heart of any chat bot. In Twir you create a command in the dashboard, give it a name and a response, and viewers can use it in chat right away. Responses can include variables for the user, stream, followers, song, Faceit stats, weather and much more.

Each command can have aliases, a global or per-user cooldown, a list of roles that can use it, several responses and an expiration date. Commands can be grouped, limited to certain game categories, and managed from chat by moderators with !commands add and !commands edit.

If you need more, write your own variables in JavaScript and use them in any command.

How to create a command

  1. Open Commands

Log in to Twir and open the Commands page in the dashboard.

  2. Create a command

Set the name, response, variables, cooldown and permissions.

  3. Use it in chat

Type the command in chat with an exclamation mark, the bot answers instantly.
